Yanka’s journey highlights the true essence of Enroot: helping youth feel a sense of belonging, flourish and create their futures.
As we celebrate our 87th year, we’re inviting our community to help us raise $87,000 to enable Enroot to continue providing impactful programming and respond to the evolving needs of immigrant youth, especially during this challenging time for immigrants in our country.
At Enroot, we believe our students already possess everything they need to thrive: resilience, intelligence, determination, and a deep sense of purpose. Our job is to walk beside them — to nurture their potential through mentorship, coaching, and real-world skill development. That’s why we’ve launched Success Labs, an innovative vision reimagining immigrant youth success.
This year, taking it a step further, deepening our mission and educational model, we’ve introduced FutureReady!, our new guiding framework that helps students plan for life after high school. FutureReady! provides applied tracks offering real-world hands-on accelerated learning through project-based work and internships. This is where learning meets opportunity, Enroot’s bridge from classroom to community, from skill-building to skill-using.
Positive change often starts when we move from reacting to reimagining. Amid today’s intensifying political landscape, immigration raids in our communities, and targeted enforcement measures, immigrant youth and their families live in daily fear of detention, deportation, and separation. During this time of great uncertainty, Enroot is choosing to reimagine how we show up for our students and provide the necessary supports.
