Ellen Lee is a passionate educator and a Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Math Teacher at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS), one of Enroot's site schools. She began her teaching career as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, but found that she also had a passion for teaching math. So, she made it her mission to build a career in the intersection of both fields and is doubly certified in ESL and Mathematics. At CRLS, she also co-created & co-advises the Multilingual Learner Education (MLE) Department's Student Ambassador Program, co-advises the National Honor Society, advises the Women in STEM Club, and coaches the Girls' Junior Varsity Tennis Team.

She attributes her work ethic and passion from being the proud eldest daughter of immigrant parents and her own lived experiences with immigration. She has made it her mission in life to give back to the community that gave so much to her and break down the barriers that continue to exclude immigrant students. She earned a B.A. in Sociology and Economics from Willamette University on a fully-funded scholarship and an M.Ed. in Teaching and Curriculum from Boston University. She is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English. She aspires to be fluent in other languages one day and has picked up on the phrases her students love to teach her.
