Debbie loves working for the Enroot Program at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS) where she is a Senior Program Associate. In this capacity, Debbie develops and executes curriculum for the weekly Leadership Development seminar and provides case management and support to students. In addition to teaching with Enroot at CRLS, Debbie plans and organizes guest speakers and panels, as well as college, workplace and other educational field trips for Enroot teens.

Debbie has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from Cornell University and a Master’s Degree in Education (Teaching and Curriculum) from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is a certified Social Studies and English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for grades 5-12. A former CRLS teacher, Debbie taught Social Studies and ESL and designed interdisciplinary, project-based curriculum for the Bilingual Department.

Debbie came to Enroot from a K-8 school in East Cambridge where she was a Family Liaison. At King Open, Debbie worked with families to support their involvement and engagement in their children’s learning, promoted community building and volunteerism in the school and organized outreach programs and school-home communications. In addition to working in Cambridge, Debbie worked in the Czech Republic to set-up and run the Education Department for Apple Computer in Prague, and taught government and civics to high school students in Washington, DC, using the city as a classroom as part of the Close Up Foundation.

Debbie has lived, worked, volunteered and raised her family in Cambridge for the past 20 years, where her 3 young adult children attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin. She likes to spend her free time walking around Fresh Pond, reading and enjoying our wonderful city with her husband, family and friends.
