Dear Enroot Family,

Overcoming obstacles and achieving dreams are at the heart of our mission at Enroot, as we collaboratively work with students to co-create their futures.

We’ve all experienced the feeling of being stuck. We’ve all experienced uncertainty, the unknown, and discomfort. Many Enroot students, who are new immigrants to this country, experience similar feelings as they step into an entirely new community and school.

Enroot has been a part of students’ journeys in embracing the unknown and making a plan to overcome their obstacles. Student Jose Valle recently shared, “During the peak of the pandemic in my Sophomore year of high school, I had to go virtual. At that point, my family didn’t have internet service. I remember that Enroot helped me find a way to get internet service. They gave me a hotspot.”

Enroot stands with students to remind them that they have the courage to move through the challenging experiences brought on by the unknown and achieve positive change. We help remove obstacles for students, share resources, and provide a space for belonging in their new communities.

Just like Enroot believes in our students, we know that YOU, our supporters, believe in our work and impact on students. Our work is only possible thanks to generous individuals like YOU, who continue to support our work.

Currently in college, Jose joined Enroot as a Freshman in high school. He says that his mentor, Greg, is more like a family member to him. Jose said “My mentor is invited to my birthday parties, and we celebrate along with my parents. Greg helped me move to college and dropped me off.”

Jose shares: “Enroot’s program was flexible. I was doing soccer also and they helped me with my schedule. The internship that I did was really cool! I did an internship with the Media Center and Parkour Generations. I loved parkour because I was pretty athletic. Enroot is a community that welcomes all immigrants. They support you and help you find resources.”

Your financial gift during this end-of-year giving season makes it possible for Enroot to support students like Jose. Your direct support helps students overcome their obstacles and conquer their dreams!

Your gift will:

  • Provide mentoring and dedicated 1:1 coaching to immigrant youth.
  • Help obtain professional internship opportunities for students.
  • Open up post-secondary access and workforce development opportunities.
  • Ensure that Enroot co-creates a program that supports students’ sense of belonging, and enhances their English language acquisition, self-advocacy, and career development.
