Anna Leversee manages the Enroot Somerville program. A firm believer in quality education for all, she is energized by working with people who volunteer their time and talents to make this goal a reality. Prior to leading the Somerville program, she worked with Enroot students and volunteers as the Volunteer Coordinator and Program Manager.
Anna joined Enroot after two years of teaching English in Medellin, Colombia. There she worked as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant at a major public university, taught teens and adults at a cultural exchange center, and volunteered at two nonprofits supporting at-risk youth. An early victim of the “travel bug,” she previously spent several months teaching in Montevideo, Uruguay and volunteered at several immigration nonprofits during her junior year of college in Cordoba, Spain.
Anna graduated from Smith College with high honors, a degree in Spanish and a minor in history. She is also certified by the School for International Training in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and by Boston University as a Spanish/English Community Interpreter. Outside the office, she likes to read and go to the gym.
